Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Looking Back

In spite of the unique challenges that 2020 has brought, we have much to be thankful for! Here are a few of the events that have kept us busy this summer:

On-line fundraiser: If you haven’t yet, feel free to check it out on our YouTube channel. A joint project with Wilf and Margaret Unrau. Link: https://youtu.be/1pJy8MSFpPA

Marriage Counseling Training Seminar in Abbotsford, BC: to further equip us in meeting the needs of people we serve.

Vauxhall, Alberta, Sunday morning worship service, together with Wilf and Margaret Unrau.

CD release Concert: Our Low German CD “Groote Freid em Läwen” is finally here! It was great to have Andrew and Deanna here for this concert!

Werrennikje Drive Through Fundraiser: Put on by our advisory board to help pay off the purchase of a more reliable motor home for the ministry. A huge thank you to everyone who came and volunteered, as well as to those who donated food and money. We are so inexpressibly thankful for your support and we are ever mindful that without you, this work would be impossible!

Thousand Oaks Concert: It was so good to again be able to interact with an audience and connect with them one on one!

Sunday School Curriculum update: Book four is at the printer! It should be ready to ship to participating churches in a week or so.

Exciting New Developments

We are pleased to announce that our son, Jason, is now officially part of the D’Friesens-MMF team! He has stepped out in faith and begun his part-time work with us. God has graciously provided another part time job that is compatible with his schedule at D’Friesens. So, look for him to be a bigger part of our upcoming events. His help in recording and producing new music, writing new songs, developing new resources, and all the graphic design and technical support he provides will go a long way in improving the quality and amount of resources we can produce.

Something else, for which we are profoundly thankful is that our son Mark has also joined our team! Throughout this last summer, as work projects piled up and we worked harder and harder to try to meet the demand, he felt the call of God to offer us his help. After a good amount of prayer, we all felt the leading of God to go ahead and take him on as part of the team. He has been a huge help to us in the last few weeks! He did this without knowing how he would be paid, or where the money would come from. But God is faithful and the finances are slowly coming together. Mark will be joining us at live events, as well as helping with the recording and production of music. He is doing much of the editing for the Sunday School curriculum and coloring book series. Mark is also in charge of cleaning and maintaining our ministry vehicles and equipment, keeping a close eye on our inventory and basically being our errand boy, doing anything and everything that comes up. Jason and Mark each have an account at MMF and are accepting financial support from anyone who senses God’s leading to support them.

Looking Ahead

From October 2 until the 20th we plan to be on a ministry trip, together with Andrew and Deanna, in Northern Alberta for several deeper life services and a missions conference.

We ask for your prayers that God would be glorified, His Kingdom built up and His people encouraged, challenged and blessed.

Other projects in the works include the Christmas albums we began earlier in the year, the notated Low German songbook, continuing on with the Sunday School curriculum, writing and printing children’s devotionals and adding to the Low German Bible Story coloring book series.

Praise God For:

  • His faithful provision during COVID-19 slowdowns and shutdowns.
  • Providing us with much needed help from Jason and Mark.
  • The encouragement and support we receive from family and friends to keep on going on in this work.
  • A comfortable, reliable motor home for the extended trips we frequently make for the ministry.
  • The sales of books and CDs that help to keep this ministry going.

Pray For:

  • Jason and Mark as they adjust to their new work, and all of us as we are always in need of financial support.
  • Continued funding for the printing and production costs of resources.
  • Safety on the road as we travel, continued good health and energy.
  • God’s guiding hand as we write and develop resources. Our prayer is that what we produce would adequately meet the needs of the people receiving it.
  • Restrictions to ease sufficiently so that we can hold some fundraising events this winter
